A Vintage Persian Tabriz Rug hand knotted in wool circa 1930s to 1940s in Northwest Iran. The rug features a grand all-over design of flowers, palmettes and fronds, with these motifs in rich blue, red and pink colours against a gold-yellow background.
Persian Tabriz Rugs are some of the finest Oriental Rugs available. They are woven in and around the Tabriz area and are famous for grand floral patterns, either with or without central medallions, with rug-making heritage dating back centuries. This piece was woven by expertly skilled weavers and from excellent quality, lustrous wool. This has made the rug very hardwearing and soft underfoot. This piece is in good condition, with fringe securing and side rebinding work required on all sides of the rug.
This Vintage Persian Tabriz Rug is an excellent furnishing piece for large living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms, with its warm colours and fine patterns making it a versatile addition to both modern and classic settings.
