Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a bespoke natural fibre rug?
A bespoke natural fibre rug is a custom-made rug crafted from plant-based materials like jute, sisal, seagrass, hemp, or coir. It's tailored to your specific design, size, colour, and material preferences.
- How is a bespoke natural fibre rug different from a regular natural fibre rug?
Regular natural fibre rugs are often available in standard sizes, weaves, and designs. Bespoke natural fibre rugs are made to order, allowing you to choose the exact specifications you want.
- Can I customise the design and pattern for my bespoke natural fibre rug?
Yes, the design and pattern can be customized to your liking. We work with our clients to create a rug that fits your aesthetic preferences.
- Can I choose the size and shape of a bespoke natural fibre rug?
Absolutely. The size and shape of a bespoke rug can be tailored to your space, whether you prefer a standard shape or something more unique.
- How do I start the process of creating a bespoke natural fibre rug?
To begin the creation of your beautiful bespoke rug, just contact us with any ideas, design concepts, colour choices, size requirements, and other specific details you have in mind for your bespoke rug. Our design team will then put together a number od CAD designs for you to choose from.
- Can I see a sample or prototype of my bespoke rug before it's completed?
Yes. We can make you a bespoke sample of the final design and colour selections that have been confirmed. These samples are usually around 20cm x 20cm and can be taken from a specific section of your rug design. We usually charge a small fee to produce your sample, which is returned to you should you choose to proceed with having the rug made. This ensures that the final product aligns with your requirements.
- How long does it take to create a bespoke natural fibre rug?
Generally, once your design has been signed off, a natural bespoke rug will take around five weeks to weave and deliver to your door. This time frame can vary based on the complexity of the design, the selected materials, and the size of the rug, so just ask us about the estimated timeline during initial discussions.
- What natural fibres can I choose from for my bespoke rug?
You can typically choose from various natural fibres such as jute, sisal, seagrass, hemp or coir.
- Can I request specific colours for my bespoke natural fibre rug?Yes, you can provide colour preferences or even swatches to ensure that the rug matches your desired colour scheme as closely as possible.
- Are bespoke natural fibre rugs more expensive than regular rugs?
Bespoke rugs are not always more expensive than stock rugs. The cost varies based on factors like design complexity, size, and materials used.
- Can I return or exchange a bespoke natural fibre rug if I'm not satisfied?
Given that bespoke rugs are made to your specifications, unfortunately, we cannot accept the return of bespoke rugs unless there is a manufacturing fault. We do provide CAD designs and create a sample for you to sign off before the weaving begins to ensure you're happy before proceeding.
- Are bespoke natural fibre rugs suitable for high-traffic areas?
Natural fibre rugs can be durable, but their suitability for high-traffic areas depends on the specific fibre and weave. Sisal and seagrass, for example, tend to be sturdier than jute and might be better for high-traffic zones.

Cleaning methods vary depending on the fibre. Vacuuming regularly (with the beater bar turned off) is generally recommended. For spills, blot gently with a dry, undyed cloth. Avoid using excessive water or liquid-based cleaning products, as they can damage the fibres. Do not use products that are for carpet cleaning, as these products can permanently alter the
