Vintage Anatolian Kilim Runner

A small, hand knotted Vintage Anatolian Kilim Runner woven with wool coloured by natural dyes. The runner has two central medallions with a diamond design and uses rich red, blue, cream, green and pink colours. This piece was once a larger rug, but it has been reduced in size to turn it into a small runner.The two medallions are bold patterns within the runner and take up a large area of this Vintage Kilim. As with all Anatolian Kilims, the runner has no pile, and the flatwoven technique is characteristic of rugs of this type, helping give a traditional piece a more contemporary feelThis baft kilim, a kilim type with a flatweave base and an embroidered design, is in excellent condition for its age and due to its small size would be a perfect addition to a small space or hallway.
