An iconic, fine Antique Persian Tabriz Rug hand knotted in wool by renowned Hadji Jalili weavers circa 1890. The rug has a grand central medallion in typical Hadji Jalili fashion. It uses naturally dyed cream and soft brown-pink complementary tones to showcase the highly detailed design of flowers and fronds.
The fineness of knotting used within this Tabriz rug was often seen in pieces from the Hadji Jalili weaving house, and as such, they are still extremely soft underfoot. The weavers also regularly used very soft colour palettes, a departure from many other Tabriz rugs that were woven at this time.
The softness of this Antique Tabriz Rug in feel and tone is highly sought after and perfect for classic interiors. As such, the rug would sit well in ornate bedrooms and living rooms as a calming focal point for the space.
