An intricate Antique Persian Azeri Runner hand knotted circa 1910. This runner uses dark blues and deep reds throughout its design, with most detailing highlighted in a light cream colour. Geometric plant and flower patterns are woven into the runner, continuing through most of the piece. As there is no central medallion, this Azeri Runner has what is known as an 'all-over design'.
Azeri rugs and runners get their name from the Azeri people who originate from North-Western Iran and Azerbaijan. Their rug making traditions are passed down the generations, and their skills create beautiful works of art. Woven over one hundred years ago from fine wool, this antique runner is in excellent condition and remains extremely durable.
With its deep and rich colours, fine detailing and classic geometric design, this Antique Azeri Runner is a versatile home accessory. Perfect for stone or wooden laid hallways in both traditional and contemporary decors as well as a living room or bedroom design feature.
