Traditionally, Persian Gabbeh Rugs and Runners have simple designs, often featuring geometric animals and trees amongst plain ground colours. These Persian pieces are the inspiration for Afghan Gabbeh Rugs and Runners, and while this Afghan Runner does not use geometric motifs, it still uses plain colours in a more contemporary fashion. The runner is hand knotted in high-quality Ghazni wool, making the piece extremely hard wearing.
