A Turkish Kayseri Rug hand knotted in wool in central Turkey. The rug features ten lozenge central medallions with geometric fronds and flowers running through the borders. Gold, cream, brown-red and beige colours are used to delineate the geometric motifs within the rug.
Turkish Kayseri Rugs are some of the finest pieces made in Turkey. They are woven in the centre of the country in the city of Kayseri and the surrounding areas in fine wool and/or silk. This rug was made by master weavers from fine wool, making it soft, lustrous and highly durable. This rug is in excellent condition except for the very minor fringe securing work required.
