A small Antique Caucasian Kazak Rug with rich and unusual colouring from circa 1920. This rug features three central star medallions surrounded by geometric lozenges and animals, with these lozenge designs continued into the borders. Deep blue, cream, rich yellow and deep purple colours are used within the rug to bring each motif to life.
Caucasian Kazak Rugs were hand knotted by the Turkic people in and around the Caucasus mountains. This piece was woven by highly skilled weavers from excellent quality wool, ensuring its durability and soft feel.
