An Afghan Khal Mohammadi Rug with a typical rich red background and dark blue all-over design of palmettes and geometric flowers.
Khal Mohammadi Rugs are one of Afghanistan's most famous rug types and are named after their creator, who was part of the Ersari Turkmen Tribe. They were traditionally woven in the North of Afghanistan and are very durable, woven from excellent quality wool. This rug was hand knotted by highly skilled weavers and, whilst hardwearing, is also soft to the touch.
A classic tribal piece, this Afghan Khal Mohammadi Rug is a versatile addition to both contemporary and traditional spaces. A great option for dining rooms, living rooms and bedrooms.
